Tainan

A few weekends ago a few of the girls here and I decided to take a day trip down south to an old city called Tainan. Tainan holds the title of "Oldest City in Taiwan". The city was established by the Dutch East India Company. The Dutch were ousted in 1661 though by a man named Koxinga. This same man ruled Taiwan from Tainan for sixteen years until the died. Tainan stayed the capital of Taiwan until 1887 when the capital was moved to Taipei in the north.

We took the HSR there and spent the day wandering around the old city, exploring the fort and climbing trees at an abandoned warehouse that has been taken over by trees. It was an easy, relaxing and fun day trip.

"I'm a tree!"
